This STAR WARS™ coin was issued by the New Zealand Mint to coincide with the launch of the new series "The Book of Boba Fett™", which will be broadcast exclusively on Disney+ from December 29, 2021. The series is a spin-off of the successful first STAR WARS™ original series "The Mandalorian™".

The coin was struck from one ounce of 99.9% silver and is dedicated to the legendary Starfighter™ of bounty hunter Boba Fett™. The motive features the Starfighter™ in the foreground, fleeing from two TIE Fighters™. With the help of the minimalist background and a fine relief, the three ships - especially the colorful Starfighter™ - are skillfully set in scene. The design is completed by the inscription "BOBA FETT'S STARFIGHTER™" and the details on the weight and fineness of the coin as well as the copyright. The Starfighter™ was originally called "Slave I™," however, the ship's designation was revised by Disney™. Before the Firespray-31 class ship was owned by Boba Fett™, it was modified by Jango Fett™. It is somewhat aging, but still very effective - it features numerous hidden offensive and defensive weapons and equipment. In particular, the Starfighter™ enjoys an exceptionally good reputation due to decades of successful pursuit and capture of fugitives.
